John Parker Lundy

John Parker Lundy was born on Monday, February 22 at 10:26 a.m. He was 8 lbs, 1 oz and 20 inches at birth. On Monday evening, we noticed that John Parker's color was a little yellow. Having been through Jaundice with Kate, we asked the nurses to test him. Sure enough, he already had high bilirubin levels. This is a little unusual so early after birth. Turns out that because of Fred and I's conflicting blood types, JP is what's called Coomb's positive. Because of this, the doctor's were a little more concerned and treated his Jaundice pretty aggressively. He spent several days in the hospital under bili-lights. Since we've been home, we've had a home health set-up with a bilibed at home. A nurse comes each morning to draw blood for labs to see how high his bilirubin levels are. Today we were able to take John Parker off the bilibed and he'll be tested again tomorrow morning to see how he does without the lights. All in all, JP is a beautiful and healthy little boy with lots of red hair! He looks so much like his daddy, I can't believe it. We are doing well, just ready to be done with this Jaundice. Kate is adjusting well to life as a big sister. She's not too sure what to make of John Parker yet, but she's doing great. Here are a few pics of our little man. I'll try to post some more throughout the week.

Belly Pics

Okay, so the belly is huge at this point. We are ready for this little man to be here.

Love this little girl! She couldn't be any sweeter.

Easy rider

Fred took Kate for a long wagon ride this afternoon and she loved it. I can't believe she kept her hat on - she's not normally a hat fan. It's still pretty cold, but the weather's been beautiful here so far this week. Lots of sunshine!

Sneaux Day in Baton Rouge

Yesterday was a big snow day across the U.S. and Baton Rouge didn't miss out on the fun. Kate's school was closed, but LSU wasn't so Fred stayed home with her so I could go to work. They got to play out in the snow a little before it stopped. It was so pretty!

Bringing snow flakes to daddy.

Crazy snow meets crazy hair

Ready for church last Sunday.

Hanging out in the laundry basket in her church dress.

Five Questions for Valentine's Day

Copied this idea from my sweet friend Lacy's blog. Happy Valentine's Day to my sweet, sweet husband!

Maybe our first picture together. Some of you remember this day at the St. Louis Zoo :)

1. What is the one thing your love does for you that you can't live without?
He makes me laugh. Every day.

2. When did you know your love was "the one"?
When we sat out on the terrace at Jewel Baptist Church in St. Louis and looked at the stars together. I remember being
very cold, but hoping that moment would never end.

3. Does your love have a special ringtone on your cell?
No, but if he did right now it would be Easton Corbin's "I'm a little more country than that." That song always makes me think of him and Corbin sounds just like George Strait - one of Fred's all-time favorites.

4. What are you attracted to most in your special someone?
He never meets a stranger. He makes everyone feel welcome and included. He's funny. He's a hard-worker and pays attention to the smallest details that make people feel so special. There are so many things.

5. Did you know when/where he/she was going to pop the big question?
No, I went to have dinner with him when he was working at Publix in Gainesville. He blindfolded me and drove me out to our church and proposed there. It's a very sweet story, but a good thing we weren't addicted to Criminal Minds back then like we are now. I might have though the blindfold was a little sketchy.

I love you, Fred!

Kate in action

Here are some recent pics Fred's taken with his iPhone when he and Kate have been in the backyard. He goes around and picks up where Alli's gone to the bathroom. Needless to say, Kate likes to "help" with this activity, so it's best to give her a bag. She mostly picks up leaves, but occasionally she finds other goodies.

No water in the water table with it this cold, but that didn't stop Kate from finding a way to use this toy.

Notice that she only has on one shoe. She takes her shoes off everywhere all the time. It is pretty rare for her to have two shoes on.

Not sure where she found this, but Go Gators!

Wild Hair

I usually put Kate's hair up these days because there is so much of it. The other night, she pulled her hair tie out right before dinner, so this is what it looked like after being up all day. Wild hair and chicken parmesan. What could be better?
