Back in the Red Stick

We had a great trip to Florida visiting family the past few weeks.  We are glad to be home, but so grateful we got to see a lot of you! We stopped through Santa Rosa Beach on the way to Central Florida.  I neglected to take any pictures, but Kate had a great time seeing Aunt Linda and playing on the beach there.  Then we were on to the lake with Fred's family.

Back in Baton Rouge.  After church today, our friends Ben and Lindsey came over for lunch and brought Kate a rainbow cookie.  She didn't eat much of it, but had fun playing.

Sorry I haven't posted any new pics lately.  Kate and I are still in Florida visiting family and Fred took the camera back home with him since we are flying home on Saturday.  One less thing to pack.  But I should have some new vacation pics next week.  We are really enjoying our time in Florida with family and friends, but we miss our Baton Rouge family too!

On the road

I traveled this weekend to Des Moines, IA for a conference for work.  It was a tough time to be away.  Kate's been sick for the past week.  She seems all better now, but we've been to the pediatrician three times in the past week.  

Wednesday morning we are leaving for Florida to visit family and friends.  We are going to the lake and the beach, so I should have lots of new pictures when I can post again.  Hope all of you are enjoying summer!

Weekly update

Kate's been enjoying the outdoors pretty much any time it's not raining.  I've really enjoyed this week with her.  This weekend, I am off to Iowa for a conference (Fred's got daddy duty).  Not too excited about Iowa, but I am excited about seeing my great friend Amanda there! When I get back next week, we are turning right around and heading to Florida to visit family.  Should be a fun adventure with lots of pictures!

Friday Fun Pics - The Black and Blue Edition

On the days I am home with Kate, we've been going up to the LSU lakes to walk.  We go pretty early, so on Wednesday I decided to pack a picnic breakfast for us to eat after we walked.  It was a beautiful mother-daughter moment (while it lasted).  I got us all set up at the picnic table and Kate was enjoying her breakfast.  She tried to get down off the bench and fell face-first into the pavement.  As you can see, she sustained a pretty brutal bump on her head.  

Nothing a little antiseptic, a juice cup and a vanilla wafer won't make better.
